#ChurchesWeKnow. Our hike to the top of Mont Saint Michel, a tidal island and mainland commune in Normandy, France. For centuries one of Europe's major pilgrimage destinations, this holy island is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as is its breathtaking bay. Our pilgrimage and hike took us from the bridge and low tide beach to explore the village, the walls, the church of St Peter, the cemetery and the gardens up to the Abbey.
