The Church of Notre-Dame de Grandcamp, located in the historic coastal town of Grandcamp-Maisy in Normandy, is a striking example of 19th-century Neo-Gothic architecture with deep medieval roots. While the current structure was largely built around 1896 to replace a crumbling older church, it still preserves a choir section dating back to the 13th century, bridging the gap between the Middle Ages and the modern era. 

The church is perhaps most famous for its survival and restoration following the D-Day landings in 1944, during which it suffered significant damage from Allied naval bombardments aimed at the nearby German coastal defenses.
