Trail to Blair Castle and Gardens. Highlights of Blair Atholl International Scottish Jamborette Parade. #CastlesWeKnow  

 Our Travel Chronicles. We attended Blair Atholl International Scottish Jamborette in 2016 with a contingent of BSA Scouts from North Florida Council. We went back in 2018 and attended the International Fair, Scouts Parade and Reflection at the Castle. These are a few highlights of Blair Castle and Gardens. We camped on the Field of Dreams. We explored Blair Castle and Gardens, Blair Atholl, Pitlochry and other landmarks of Scotland. 

 On Sunday, after the start of the Jamborette, scouts go in parade from the camps to Blair Castle to attend an outdoors’ Scout’s Own service. Blair Castle has been the home of the Atholl family for over seven centuries. The castle has had a diverse history, witnessing both turbulent and peaceful times, enlarged and adapted over 750 years. Home to politicians, soldiers, agriculturalists and entrepreneurs, the family history is brought to life against a backdrop of fine 18th century interiors and Scots Baronial architecture, in 30 rooms. Blair Atholl 2024. The 39th Scottish International Patrol Jamborette is taking place in Blair Atholl from Monday 15th July 2024 until Friday 26th July. 500 Scottish Explorer Scouts will camp alongside Scouts from Austria, Barbados, Canada, Gibraltar, Iceland, Ireland, Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Norway, Spain, and USA. They will work as a dual patrol of around 12, in one of six subcamps. There is an exciting programme of activities and the opportunity to form lasting international friendships.
